Amazon, which is primarily seen as an e-commerce site, apparently has bigger dreams as far as India is concerned. First it brought its internet media streaming service Amazon Prime to India and now it has launched Amazon Fire TV Stick , a media streaming device with voice remote in the country. The TV Stick, which comes with a voice remote, costs Rs 3,999 and is available for purchase on the Amazon website.

"Fire TV Stick is the powerful streaming media device that plugs into an HDTV and lets customers access thousands of movies, TV shows, apps, and games," says an Amazon spokesperson.

 

What is Amazon Fire TV Stick?

It is primarily a media streaming device that plugs into an HDTV and lets users access movies, TV shows, apps and games. It is like a large pen drive. But despite size, it packs in pretty neat hardware inside it. It comes with a quad-core processor and support for fast Wi-Fi. The Fire TV stick comes with a voice remote that offers spoken language support for Indian customers in Hindi and English. With voice remote users can search Amazon video by using just their voice.

Those buying Fire TV Stick by May 31, 2017 and taking an annual Prime membership will receive a credit back of Rs 499 to their Amazon Pay Balance as an introductory offer. Existing Amazon Prime members who purchase a new Fire TV Stick are also eligible to receive this credit for a limited time.

To make the Fire TV Stick work you will need to have an Amazon account registered with your device. If you don't already have an account, you'll see an option to create one during the setup process. This is also needed because the Fire TV Stick primarily serves the Amazon Prime content.

To start with, connect the power adapter to Fire stick. Now plug the other end of Fire Stick into HDMI port available on your TV. Switch on the TV and now select the HDMI input channel for the port you used to connect your Fire TV Stick.
